On a summer afternoon in New Orleans, tragedy struck in the Central City neighborhood. Vontraz Pollard, a 35-year-old male, was gunned down on Monday, July 15, 2024. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in the 2800 block of Danneel Street.
When officers from the New Orleans Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Pollard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services were dispatched and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Despite their efforts, Vontraz Pollard succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office later identified Pollard as the victim of the fatal shooting. The New Orleans Police Department's Homicide Division has opened an investigation into the matter. As of now, no information regarding any potential suspects or arrests in connection with this case has been released to the public. The authorities have appealed to the community for assistance, asking anyone with information to come forward and contact the Homicide Division or to report tips anonymously through Crimestoppers.
