In the early morning hours of July 23, 2024, the lives of Christopher Hegwood, a 29-year-old male, and his girlfriend, Chrissy Jenkins, were tragically cut short in a double homicide just outside of Amite, Louisiana. The couple, who had been together for about a decade, were found deceased from gunshot wounds inside their mobile home on M.L.K. Street.
