In the late hours of a Friday night in Amite, Louisiana, a dispute inside a local nightclub escalated to a fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 47-year-old Nathan Diamond. An African American man from the nearby town of Kentwood, Diamond was at Mr. J's Nightclub on McCoy Lane on September 23, 2016, when the deadly encounter unfolded. The evening's festivities were shattered around 9:45 p.m. by the sound of gunfire, prompting a response from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
