On August 20, 2024, the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office received a call from a woman reporting that she had just shot her husband. Deputies and detectives promptly responded to the residence on Boundary Road in Pitkin, Louisiana, where they found 61-year-old Rodney Lee Sweat deceased inside the home.
