In the early morning hours in Lecompte, Louisiana, a verbal dispute escalated into deadly violence, leaving one man dead. The incident, which occurred on Union Street, claimed the life of 34-year-old James Barfield. Barfield, a Black male, was found unresponsive at the scene, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the location of the shooting.
