In the early evening of March 25, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in the Shawnee neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, that claimed the lives of two young people. Haley Lynn Meadors, a 25-year-old Caucasian woman, and her boyfriend, Eric Steven King Jr., also 25, were fatally shot in the 100 block of North 38th Street. Responders who arrived at the scene shortly before 5 p.m. found both Meadors and King with critical gunshot wounds.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital, but their injuries proved to be too severe, and both were pronounced dead.
Haley was a mother to her two children, Amari and Aria King. She was remembered by her family as someone who cherished spending time with her children and showing them the joy in life. Her sudden death left her family, including her mother, sister, and two brothers, devastated as they tried to comprehend the violent loss.
The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating the double homicide. As of now, the case remains an open homicide, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The police have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case and have encouraged witnesses to use their anonymous tip line.
