On May 10, 2020, police responded to a shooting call around 12:45 p.m. in the 5300 block of Halsey Court in the Iroquois neighborhood. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered Ms. Blakemore and a man, later identified as 32-year-old Brandon Gibbs, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
