In the summer of 2016, a celebration of life took a tragic turn in the Parkland neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. On a warm Tuesday night in August, friends and family gathered for a 60th birthday party at a home near the corner of 26th and Kentucky Streets. Among the guests was 36-year-old Lashay Dorsey, a woman known to her loved ones as 'Shay' or 'Shay Baby.' The festive atmosphere was shattered when gunfire erupted, turning a joyous occasion into a scene of chaos and violence.
