Fa'Quansa 'Molly' Sha'Georgia Ancrum, a 30-year-old Black female from Lexington, Kentucky, was fatally shot on December 5, 2020, in Louisville. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. in the California neighborhood, near the intersection of West Oak and Dr. W. J. Hodge streets. Louisville Metro Police officers discovered Ancrum in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.
She was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she died from her injuries at approximately 2 p.m.
Tragically, Ancrum was not the only victim in this senseless act of violence. Her 5-month-old daughter, Ocean Robertson, was also in the vehicle and was shot in the head. The infant was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Miraculously, she survived the shooting, though she has faced a long and arduous road to recovery, dealing with numerous medical issues, including severe seizures and neurological damage. The shooting has had a lasting impact on the family, with Ancrum's mother stepping in to care for Ocean and her four siblings.
As of late 2024, the shooting that claimed Fa'Quansa Ancrum's life and forever altered her daughter's remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is handling the ongoing investigation. Ancrum's family continues to seek justice and answers in her death. In June 2024, a headstone was unveiled for Fa'Quansa, providing a place for her loved ones to visit and remember her.
