Death by Force

On the morning of September 10, 2023, 58-year-old Black male Kaynell Pate was found fatally shot at the intersection of 29th and Cedar Streets in Louisville's Russell neighborhood. Responding officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department discovered him with multiple gunshot wounds around 9:15 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. As of now, no suspects have been identified or arrested, and the LMPD Homicide Unit continues to investigate the case.
