In the early afternoon of a Tuesday in Louisville, Kentucky, a mother's world was irrevocably shattered. On March 5, 2024, 23-year-old Carlos Hamilton, a Black male, was found inside his white SUV in the St. Denis neighborhood. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene on the 3400 block of Shagbark Road. The driver's side door bore the chilling evidence of the violence, marked by at least one bullet hole.
