On a tragic Monday morning, August 19, 2024, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, 71-year-old Janet Riley was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Hardin County Justice Center. She was at the courthouse to support her 37-year-old daughter, Erica Riley, who was also killed in the attack that unfolded as an ambush. Erica's father was also shot and injured during the incident but survived.
