In the late hours of a Monday night in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 18-year-old Durelle Moxley Jr. was tragically cut short. On September 30, 2024, the young man, a student at Waggener High School, was found in the Park Hill neighborhood suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 2300 block of Bolling Avenue, where they discovered Moxley.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Durelle, born on May 26, 2006, in Louisville, was remembered as a young man who cherished his family and friends. He had a love for listening to music and playing football. Those who knew him recall his playful nature, especially his knack for lovingly annoying his siblings. He was survived by his mother, Tyresa Cheathman, his sisters, Duri'Elle and Du'Riyah Moxley, and his brother, Lejend Ladd. His passing came after he had already experienced the loss of his father, Durelle Moxley Sr.
