On November 5, 2023, at approximately 5:15 a.m., Portland police officers responded to reports of gunfire near Cathedral Park in North Portland. Initially, they found no evidence of a shooting. However, about 20 minutes later, a passerby reported discovering a woman with a gunshot wound in a parking lot near North Crawford Street and North Alta Avenue.
