On November 18, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the Glenfair neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, resulting in the death of 45-year-old Shamesha Danaee Allen. The incident took place in the 15900 block of Northeast Everett Court. Police officers were dispatched to the scene at 6:37 p.m. following a report of a shooting, and upon arrival, they found Allen deceased.
The medical examiner determined that Shamesha Danaee Allen died from homicide by gunshot wound.
In connection with the
shooting, 43-year-old Donnell L. Watson of Gresham was detained by responding officers. Watson was later taken to the Multnomah County Jail and charged with manslaughter in the first degree and felon in possession of a firearm.
Allen, who was born in Sacramento, California, and most recently lived in Portland, Oregon, had her family notified of her death. Her family provided a photograph for public release and requested privacy at the time.
The investigation and subsequent arrest indicate that the case is no longer unsolved, as Watson has been charged in relation to Allen's death.
