In the early morning hours of Saturday, November 25, 2023, a life was tragically cut short in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. Marco Alfonso Sosa, a 32-year-old Hispanic male from Lynn, Massachusetts, was fatally shot in a parking lot situated between 12 Glenville Avenue and 161 Harvard Avenue. The incident, which occurred around 2:25 a.m., also left a second man with non-life-threatening injuries.

Boston Police were first alerted to the violence when two gunshot victims arrived at a local hospital. Their investigation led them to the Allston parking lot where the shooting had taken place. Sosa was pronounced deceased, and the Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately began an active and ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As of late 2023, no arrests had been made in connection with the homicide. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact the Homicide Unit or to leave an anonymous tip.

Marco Alfonso Sosa was remembered as a beloved son, a devoted father to his young daughter, and a cherished brother. Friends and family described him as a bright light who brought laughter and unconditional love to those around him. A memorial service to honor his life was held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home in East Boston, where those who knew and loved him gathered to pay their respects.
