On a crisp autumn day in Boston, the life of 33-year-old Hispanic male, Jose Maceira, was irrevocably altered. It was November 23, 1974, and the rookie Boston Police Officer was on patrol with his partner in the Dorchester neighborhood. The two officers happened upon two men trespassing on railroad tracks and moved to intercept them.
