On January 19, 2023, 17-year-old Ranyia Grundy died following a shooting incident on the north side of Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) received reports around 2:30 p.m. about a person down in the roadway in the 3100 block of North Guilford Avenue. However, upon arrival, officers did not find anyone in the road but noticed a red vehicle driving erratically away from the scene.
