On February 1, 2024, 36-year-old Dyeshia Tene Turner was fatally shot at the Rowney Terrace Apartments, located in the 1400 block of South Bancroft Street on the east side of Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) was called to the scene just before 7:25 p.m. in response to reports of a disturbance, a person with a firearm, and a person shot. Upon arrival, officers found Turner dead in the yard of a residence with fatal gunshot wounds.
