On April 12, 2023, a deadly shooting occurred in the 700 block of Phillipa Street in South Bend, Indiana, resulting in the death of 25-year-old Marlon Hudson of Gary, Indiana. The incident involved an altercation between Hudson and 23-year-old Keith Hardy, who were positioned on opposite sides of the street. According to investigators, Hardy fired a gun toward Hudson, hitting and killing him. In the exchange of gunfire, a woman standing close to Hardy was also injured but survived.
