On April 22, 2023, Jaquareous Rashawn Tyreik Mitchell, 26, and his brother Jimmy Jermaine Thomas Jr., 29, were fatally shot at a Shell gas station located at 3402 N. Emerson Ave, near East 34th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. when Indianapolis police responded to a report of two people shot at the Emerson Food Mart.
