On April 23, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the northeast side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Damonte R. Parker. The incident took place in the early morning hours, with officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responding to a report of a person shot at approximately 12:52 a.m. in the 3600 block of North DeQuincy Street, near the intersection of 38th Street and Emerson Avenue.
