Nakia N Smith

In the late summer of 2015, the life of 38-year-old Nakia Dejuaine Smith was abruptly and violently cut short on the near north side of Indianapolis. On the evening of Saturday, August 22, Smith was reportedly riding his bicycle when he was fatally shot. Witnesses in the area described seeing a man on a bike being shot, an act of violence that left a community shaken and a family devastated. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Smith succumbed to his injuries.
