Nakia N. Smith, a 38-year-old man, was fatally shot on August 22, 2015, in Indianapolis. Known as "Nick" to his friends and family, Smith's life ended during a period of increased violence in the city. On that night, he became one of multiple victims of gun violence in Indianapolis.
