On November 15, 2023, a tragic incident occurred on the northeast side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Dayon Darnell Lyles. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a report of a person shot in the 3500 block of Blue Spruce Lane, near East 38th Street and North Sherman Drive, at approximately 8:30 p.m..
