On the afternoon of March 5, 2024, a quiet neighborhood in Hendricks County was disturbed when a Honda sedan crashed into the back of a house. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered the driver, 20-year-old Carlos Neri-Guzman of Indianapolis, who was the sole occupant. First responders soon realized it was not the crash that had claimed his life; the young Hispanic man had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
