On September 19, 2023, 40-year-old Alisa Marie True of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was fatally shot in her home on Fox Avenue. The perpetrator, 42-year-old Corby James Lee, who was also the father of one of her children, admitted to the shooting, stating he was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time. He confessed to police, saying, "We got into an argument, and I shot her," and acknowledged that True was not threatening him when he fired the shot.
