On January 4, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at an apartment complex on the northeast side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Derrick Curtis Perry II. The incident took place in the 4800 block of Lakeshore Place, near the intersection of Allisonville Road and 82nd Street.
