On August 23, 2024, a deadly shooting occurred on the near north side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 48-year-old Edward Franklin Gray Jr. The incident took place around 10:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of East 34th Street, near Keystone Avenue.
