On the afternoon of August 31, 2024, Muncie police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of South Blaine Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Jamal Wallace, who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
