On October 23, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Gary, Indiana, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Christian Messiah Lewis. The incident was reported to the Gary Police Department at approximately 11:29 PM, following a call for service regarding shots fired in the area of 5800 Cypress Avenue.
