In the late hours of an autumn evening in Gary, Indiana, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. On October 23, 2024, at approximately 11:29 PM, police responded to a call of shots fired in the vicinity of 5800 Cypress Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered a gold Jeep SUV that had crashed into a tree at the end of the road. Inside the vehicle was 21-year-old Christian Messiah Lewis, a Black male, who had sustained a gunshot wound and showed no signs of life.
