On the evening of September 14, 2020, in Gary, Indiana, a burst of violence cut short the life of 30-year-old Keiyun Mays. A Black male, Mays was in the 2000 block of Burr Street when he was struck by multiple gunshots around 8:30 p.m. The fatal incident prompted a swift response from the Gary Police Department, who arrived to a grim scene.
