In the early morning hours of November 4, 2024, a dispute over a drug transaction on the near northwest side of Indianapolis turned fatal, claiming the life of 47-year-old Matthew Collin Stevens. The white male was discovered by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers in the 600 block of West 30th Street around 8:15 a.m., suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
