Elizabeth "Lizzy" Beasley, born on August 29, 2004, in Rockford, Illinois, was the cherished daughter of Al and Juanita (Uecker) Beasley. A 2022 graduate of Auburn High School, she was an active member of the volleyball and cross-country teams. Known for her radiant personality, Lizzy had a unique ability to light up any room she entered. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Tragically, on May 7, 2024, at the age of 19, Lizzy's life was cut short. She was found deceased in her home on Linden Road in Rockford, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities arrested Douglas Bell, 20, on May 8, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with her death. Reports indicate that Bell, identified as Lizzy's child's father, was present at the scene and made the initial 911 call. He claimed that Lizzy had shot herself following an argument. However, evidence, including fresh bruising on her neck and arm, suggested otherwise, leading to his arrest.
Lizzy's untimely passing left a profound void in the lives of her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Di Amanni; her parents, Al and Juanita; brothers, Michael and Joey; sisters, Maleah, Paris, and Ebony; and numerous relatives and friends who cherished her deeply. Her presence, laughter, and smile are deeply missed but will never be forgotten.
To honor her memory, a visitation was held on May 23, 2024, at The Park Church in Rockford, followed by a funeral service at the same location. In the wake of her passing, a GoFundMe campaign was established to assist with funeral expenses, reflecting the community's support during this difficult time. Lizzy's legacy endures through the love she shared and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to have known her.
