On July 4, 2024, a tragic mass shooting occurred in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident took place around 6:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of South Woodlawn, where police responded to a ShotSpotter detection alert. Upon arrival, officers found five family members shot inside a home: two women and three boys.
