Deshon Reed, a 16-year-old African American male, was found dead in his bedroom in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, on June 17, 2021. The tragic incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. in the first block of West 109th Place. Deshon was discovered with a gunshot wound to his neck, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Chicago fire officials. The Cook County medical examiner's office later confirmed that Deshon's death was a homicide, resulting from the gunshot wound to his neck.
