Cordell Bass, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on August 11, 2021, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Carpenter Street. According to reports, Cordell and a 16-year-old friend were inside the family home when someone outside opened fire, with bullets penetrating the building and striking both boys.
