Victor Terell Turner, Jr., a 24-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, lost his life to gun violence on March 20, 2024. The incident occurred on the Bishop Ford Freeway, specifically on the northbound lane of Interstate 94 near 103rd Street in the Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. At approximately 2:50 p.m., Turner was shot while in a white Toyota, whose front and rear passenger side windows were shot out during the incident.
Turner was immediately taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation led by the Illinois State Police resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Myles M. Stanford on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Stanford was taken into custody in connection with the shooting, and a weapon was recovered during the investigation. He has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Stanford is currently being held at the Riverdale Police Department pending his first court appearance.

Turner was a devoted Baptist, and his faith played a significant role in his life. He was known for his love for his family and friends, his spirit, and his dedication to peace and harmony. Turner is survived by his parents, siblings, step-family members, and his boyfriend, among others.
