Marcel Javon Spivey Jr., a 21-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on April 23, 2017, in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 1:05 p.m. when Spivey Jr. and another man were in a vehicle at 97th and Yale. An unknown assailant approached and fired shots, striking Spivey Jr. in the head.
