Jamarcus F. Walker, a 31-year-old man from Mississippi, died on Friday, September 6, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a shooting that occurred in Peoria, Illinois. The incident took place on Wednesday night, with police responding to a ShotSpotter alert of six rounds fired at the 600 block of West Johnson in South Peoria around 8:30 p.m..
During the shooting, Jamarcus F. Walker was critically injured and transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 4:09 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024.
Another individual, Dennis Harris, 30, of Peoria, was also killed in the same shooting and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy for Jamarcus F. Walker will be conducted following organ procurement, as stated by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
