Jahiem Welch, an 18-year-old African American male from Peoria, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 16, 2022. He was pronounced dead at 3:02 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center after being shot multiple times. The autopsy revealed that Welch suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body, leading to his immediate death. This incident marked the 14th homicide in Peoria for the year and the fourth in that month alone.
