On March 28, 2023, 13-year-old Buddy Brown Jr. was fatally shot outside his apartment building at Richmond Summit Apartments in Augusta, Georgia. The incident occurred when Buddy went outside to pick up a DoorDash delivery, a routine he often followed, but he never returned home. His father, Buddy Brown Sr., received a phone call informing him that his son was lying dead outside the apartment building. Upon arriving at the scene, Brown Sr. found his son shot and deceased.
