In the spring of 2023, a life was tragically cut short in Macon, Georgia. On the morning of April 2nd, 21-year-old Zyshown Dunn, a male, was visiting a residence on Log Cabin Drive. An altercation broke out between Dunn and a man who lived at the house. The argument escalated, and gunfire erupted. Dunn was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding Bibb County sheriff's deputies arrived to find a chaotic scene. The man involved in the dispute with Dunn was still at the location.
He was identified as 33-year-old Torey Antwan Burnette. Deputies immediately detained Burnette for questioning. Following an interview with investigators, he was formally arrested.
Torey Antwan Burnette was subsequently charged with the murder of Zyshown Dunn. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and held without bond. The investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting is ongoing.
