In the early morning hours of a Wednesday in Rome, Georgia, the life of 39-year-old Cassie Lashae Davis was tragically cut short in a shocking act of violence that unfolded in the drive-thru of a local Chick-fil-A. On April 5, 2023, as the breakfast rush was underway, Davis was in her vehicle when she was fatally shot. The incident, which initially appeared to be a car accident, was soon discovered to be a murder-suicide.
The perpetrator was identified as 56-year-old Anthony Green. According to law enforcement, Green arrived at the Shorter Avenue restaurant, exited his vehicle, and fired multiple shots into Davis's car, striking her three times through the passenger-side window.
