In the early morning hours of May 30, 2023, Teisha Brewley, a 31-year-old Guyanese woman, was shot and killed in what police have described as a targeted ambush in Atlanta, Georgia. Brewley, a social media influencer also known by the names Tisha Brodie and Tavi Baddie, had just left the club where she worked on Cheshire Bridge Road and was a passenger in an Uber.
As the Uber, a Cadillac Escalade, drove through the affluent Buckhead neighborhood, the driver noticed they were being
followed by two cars. Shortly before 4:30 a.m., near the intersection of Lindbergh and Adina drives, occupants of the following vehicles opened fire on the Escalade, unleashing a barrage of bullets that lasted for what one witness described as a 'good 20 seconds.' The Uber driver, who was unharmed, frantically called 911, telling the dispatcher that his passenger had been shot and was still breathing.
Despite the driver's call for help, Teisha Brewley succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. A large number of shell casings were found scattered around the bullet-riddled SUV, indicating multiple shooters were involved. Investigators believe the attack was a targeted incident, though a motive has not been publicly released. The shooting took place less than a block from where Brewley lived.
In the wake of the shooting, Atlanta police have been actively investigating the homicide. However, to date, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with Teisha Brewley's murder. The case remains under investigation, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward. A candlelight vigil was held to honor and remember Brewley, who had recently celebrated her birthday.
