On July 12, 2023, 15-year-old Jabari Webb was fatally shot in Augusta, Georgia, just days before his 16th birthday, which was to be on July 25. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. and is described by Webb’s family members as a drive-by shooting. Webb was one of two teens shot during the incident; the other teenager was shot in the wrist and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
