Justine Mitchell, 27, tragically lost her life on July 27, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was one of two victims in a fatal shooting at the Peyton Place apartment complex. The other victim was 28-year-old Devon Boyd.

The Atlanta Police Department investigated the incident and, in August 2023, announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the double homicide. The suspect was apprehended in South Carolina and extradited to Atlanta to face charges.
