On a summer afternoon in Atlanta, Georgia, a dispute at the Peyton Place apartment complex escalated into a tragedy that claimed two lives. On July 27, 2023, 27-year-old Justine Mitchell and 28-year-old Devon Boyd were shot multiple times and died at the scene. The incident, which unfolded on Peyton Place in the southwest of the city, was the result of an argument that turned violent.
The Atlanta Police Department launched an investigation into the double homicide.
Their efforts led them to a suspect, Marcasio Darville, who was 21 years old at the time. Four months after the shooting, in November 2023, law enforcement apprehended Darville at the Los Angeles International Airport. He was subsequently extradited back to Atlanta to face charges related to the deaths of Mitchell and Boyd.
Following his return to Georgia, Marcasio Darville was booked into the Fulton County Jail on December 29, 2023. He has been charged with two counts of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The case against him is now proceeding through the legal system.
