On August 31, 2023, 23-year-old African American male Antiwan Malik Williams was fatally shot in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred in the early morning hours at a southwest Atlanta apartment where Williams was spending time with family members. During the gathering, a confrontation arose after family members admonished 23-year-old African American male Ronald Adams, Williams' cousin, about his drug use. The situation escalated, culminating in Adams shooting Williams.
