On September 21, 2023, at approximately 10:00 P.M., officers of the Cordele Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Tulip Avenue in Cordele, Georgia, after several 911 calls reported numerous gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, the officers were flagged down by a group of people at a residence, where they found 19-year-old Rondarrius Wedges sitting inside a vehicle with numerous gunshot wounds.
