Ladarius Blanks, 18, a Black/African American male from Cordele, was killed on the evening of June 19, 2025, after gunfire erupted along the 700 block of South 12th Street. Officers responding just before 7 p.m. found two male victims; Blanks was pronounced dead at the scene while a juvenile was taken to Crisp Regional Hospital.
