On the night of March 6, 2024, 29-year-old African American male Markel Harper was fatally shot in Albany, Georgia. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 1000 block of Radium Springs Road. Harper was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
